November is generally a dull month. True, in the U.K. you light bonfires, set off fireworks and keep everyone 3 miles back in case they burn a finger and over the pond, a turkey massacre of gargantuan proportions will take place so everyone can have the day off and say ‘thanks’, but normally we are all staying in, saving cash and waiting ‘eat drink and be merry’ in December.
Not so this year in Catalonia. In a flurry of activity, Pope Benedict XVI, the Catalan elections, ‘El Classico’, the bi-annual footie clash between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, the International Boat Show and the 42nd International Jazz Festival will make November a busy month here in Barcelona.
Thanks goodness we have a five day holiday at the beginning of December to recharge the batteries before the festive season hits!
So if you are heading our way in the coming weeks, then there is plenty extra to see and do as well enjoying the normal array of attractions the region has to offer.
